Quarantine Compilation

Stores are opening. Restaurants are opening. It seems life as we once knew it is slowly opening again. I also believe minds are opening and hearts are opening. We humans are funny creatures. On one hand, we spend the majority of our time and energy trying to maintain equilibrium. On the other hand, life outside our equilibrium is what has enabled our species to progress this far.

"Empty Spaces"

“Empty Spaces,” the title track off Eliot Bronson’s new record, describes life post-breakup when you’re just getting back on your feet again. It reminded me of when I broke off my engagement almost a decade ago. We were living together in a quaint Craftsman bungalow that was half her, half me. The weekend of our split I stayed with a friend so she could move out. When I walked back into the house it was half empty. "Is It Real?"

This song came in the spring of 2018 at a time when most of my song titles included question marks at the end. It’s safe to say 2018 was a year of figuring things out for me. Including figuring out there’s nothing in life that needs to be figured out…

"Is It Love?"

Heartbreak takes time. It starts in a moment, then spreads like a dropped glass of wine - seeping into the cracks. You do everything you can immediately after to clean up the mess, but red wine stains…

"Beautiful Gift"

I got a text message from a friend that said "Miranda Lambert's new record has a song about you!" With the gravitational pull of Facebook click bait, I immediately pushed play on Spotify…
