Painless
The deeper I fall down the filmmaking rabbit hole, the more I realize how many directors tell the same story over and over again. The characters, setting, and stakes may be different, but the core message is the same.
We need that as humans. Repetition. Before we really start to get it. One story I intend to tell over and over again through different characters and settings is how to appreciate the beauty in life, we must embrace the pain. Nowhere was this made so real to me as on the Camino (which you can read here).
My latest installation of this theme is a new short film script called “Painless.” The story focuses on an MMA fighter with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain disorder (CIP) who is haunted by a tragic past.
I’ve never put a script out before shooting it, but I would love your feedback. This is something I hope to get funded and bring to life over the next year. Any and all thoughts, comments, and feedback are more than welcome!
